About Sparklers
Sparklers (phuljhadi / kakarottulu) are the first cracker most children light. We stock gold, crackling and coloured sparklers from 7 cm "Bobby" sticks for little hands up to 30 cm sticks that burn longer and brighter.
How to choose
- Length: 7 cm and 12 cm sparklers are short and easy for children (with an adult). 15 cm is the classic size. 30 cm burns the longest.
- Effect: Gold sparklers give a soft glow; crackling sparklers add a crackle sound; coloured sparklers (red, green, tri-colour, 4-colour, lavender) change colour as they burn.
- How many: Plan roughly 10 sticks per child for the evening.
- Safety: Hold at arm's length, wear cotton, keep a bucket of water nearby and drop finished wires into it — the wire stays hot.
